The stars are dancing like diamonds in the moonlight

When I was a young kidlet, I begged my mom to send me a Shaun Cassidy tape to play on my crappy old tape recorder while I was away at sleep away camp. And to my delight and surprise, she actually sent it.  Doo Ron Ron was the popular song, but I actually preferred Hey Deanie, and wow, look at what 45 turned up over 4 decades later, somewhere at a garage sale in Texas (courtesy of my sweet mom AGAIN). It brought back all the central  Texas summer sunshine memories of the late 1970s.  Also, this painted record glows under black light. Wooooo!

Honeymoon in Hawaii

Here is one of my most recent painted records, inspired by a Hawaiian plumeria.  I've never been to Hawaii.  One day.  This record is SOLD and has gone to live with a very awesome person.

You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute.

I'm almost finished painting this. Pretty sure no one has a mailbox like ours.  I'm hoping it will magically attract more fun and useful things to get mailed to us.   Checks and large amounts of money are good, too.  I'm not picky.

Neon skies, tiny paintings

I've been painting a few tiny Northern Lights lately!  They glow under black light and are really fun. Seeing the Aurora Borealis is on my bucket list.  I don't know when I'll have the means to travel to Iceland and sleep under one of those glass-roofed yurt things. But in the mean time, I'll paint them while the mood strikes.

These all have homes.  But I will make more!  Some of the photos show what the paintings look like under black light. WOOOOOOooooooOOOOOOO!


All of these small paintings were made by doing an abstract "poured painting" underneath with fluid acrylic techniques that included neon/black light paint.  If you look closely, you can see the "cells" underneath the painting.  They were then embellished with more neon paint and black paint to form the silhouette terrain, trees, and stars.

Green Cactus in the Summer Rain

Purple River

This domino is so vibrant, it's hard to accurately show it with a photo.  Sometimes the colors just don't translate digitally. But let me tell you:  It is very PURPLE, light GREEN, and BLUE!  Come into my fantasy world, where the landscape can be purple and look like colorful candy.
